Safe Church Communities
At Barney’s, in line with the Anglican Diocese of Tasmania, we are committed to ensuring all our gatherings, communities and programmes are safe places for all people. Therefore all our leaders, and all those working with under 18s, are required to be endorsed by the Safe Church Communities Programme.
For leaders, this means committing to abide by the Anglican Church's Code of Conduct, Faithfulness in Service. You can read the Faithfulness in Service document here.
Those working directly with under 18s are also required to complete Childsafe training, obtain a Working With Vulnerable People card and renew their training every three years. “We want our church communities to be safe places where all people can encounter the love of God in Christ. Every church must reflect the values of respect and honour that are taught to us in the Bible.” (Richard Condie, Anglican Bishop of Tasmania)
