Our Vision...

To be God's Missionary People - Seeing Lives Transformed

At Barney's, we feel strongly called by God to be good news to others, both in the way we live and act and also in the way we speak about Jesus. William Temple, who was Archbishop of Canterbury from 1942-1944 said, “The church is the only institution that exists primarily for the benefit of those who are not its members.” We are determined to follow in this tradition and make blessing and serving those who are not part of our church our primary reason for existing.

As we seek to bless and serve those who do not yet know Jesus, we fully expect their lives to be transformed as they experience his love and grace and truth. This transformation includes people being healed, relationships being restored, and individuals, families and communities discovering hope, passion and purpose for their lives.

Our Mission...

Growing Jesus-centred communities of disciples who make disciples who make disciples...

We believe that God created us to live in relationship - with him and with other people. Throughout the Bible, we see God continually calling people to live as tribes, as families, as communities who would make him known through their life together. Our mission at Barney’s is to grow and multiply communities of people committing together to be whole-hearted followers of Jesus (disciples) who are confident, equipped and able to share Jesus with others, who in turn can share him with others. This is how we are seeking to live as God’s missionary people - seeing lives transformed.
